Overview

Lansing, Michigan Class B Route Driver with Hazmat Endorsement

 

East Penn Manufacturing is hiring a dedicated regional CDL-B driver! Drive dedicated with East Penn and enjoy a consistent schedule and pay, onsite management and regular deliveries to dedicated customers.

This position will pay $25.60 per hour.

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Plus a $2,500 Sign-On/Retention Bonus! 

 

Responsibilities

Driver’s primary responsibility will include various warehouse material handling duties and some delivery and pick-ups at off-site locations.

  • Schedule varies depending on run, trips may range from 1 to 2 days in length.
  • Delivers and picks up freight from specified locations, such as warehouses, stores, industrial plants, railroad yards, and small businesses.
  • Verifies freight with shipping papers.
  • Drives to specified locations, applying knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, state and local driving laws, and hazardous material regulations.
  • Uses skills in highway navigation as well as maneuvering a vehicle in various situations, such as narrow passageways, heavy traffic, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Inspects the vehicle for mechanical and safety defects before and after each trip, and submits a report indicating the vehicle condition.
  • Maintains a Driver's Daily log according to Federal regulations.
  • Prepares shipping papers for freight received.
  • Interacts with customers when delivering or receiving freight or collecting payment for goods delivered.
  • Warehouse work using material handling equipment.

Qualifications

  • Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License with Endorsements for Air Brakes and Hazmat (endorsements not required prior to employment but obtainment required during probationary period) Training provided.
  • Literate with good communication and math skills.
