Overview

Navitas is ready to invest in you!  We are seeking a Cell Formation Operator in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will perform the lithium-ion cell formation process utilizing an established process flow through semi-automated cell formation equipment, aging ovens, degassing equipment, and final cell packaging. 

 

Work Schedule rotates every two weeks.

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday 6:00am to 6:30pm. 

Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:00am to 6:30pm

 

This position will pay $19.84 per hour

 

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.

Responsibilities

  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Work with team to move battery cells through prescribed formation process at daily rate.
  • Load and unload batches of battery cells between aging ovens and electrical charge/discharge equipment.
  • Manually transfer individual cells into position in bins accurately and efficiently.
  • Accurately scan battery cell and batch code numbers into data tracking system.
  • Monitor equipment for error signals, alarms, cycle complete signals, and respond per training.
  • Track process anomalies and report to process lead.
  • Remove process failures and follow procedures for disposition.
  • Operate battery cell finishing equipment (cell sorting, package trimming and folding).
  • Ensure daily 5S of work area (maintain clean and organized work areas).
  • Be punctual and reliable in attendance.
  • Follow all company policies regarding safety, quality, and conduct.
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
  • Provides advisory support and assistance to the department manager as needed.
  • Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators.
  • Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner.
  • Physical presence on the job is essential including weekends and holidays if deemed necessary.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school or GED degree required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Good verbal communication skills (English).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 40 pound loads several times per day.
  • Good manual dexterity with both hands.
  • Ability to stand for 2 – 4 hours at a time.
  • Ability to push carts of trays of cells and maneuver them through aisleways.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the individual must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
