Overview

East Penn Manufacturing, a world class leader in lead-acid battery manufacturing is looking for a Territory Sales Representative in Columbus, Ohio for our Industrial Division.  The Industrial Sales Representative will work closely with assigned accounts in their designated Southern Ohio territory in establishing and maintaining core business while focusing on maximizing market penetration and profitability.  In this position you will be expected to achieve forecasted market shares and gross profit goals by providing the appropriate customer solutions and consistent account management of both new and existing customers.  The main objectives are to achieve maximum unit’s sales volume, market penetrations, profit return and customer loyalty from the core account customers. 

 

Estimated salary range: $60,000 - $70,000

 

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.

 

You would start as a Salaried employee with the potential to transition into comission based pay as you grow in your territory.

Responsibilities

  • Travel within sales territory to meet prospects and customers
  • Territory management of assigned territory
  • Conduct calls and face-to-face meetings with customers daily
  • Business to Business Cold Calling
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and repeat customers
  • Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts
  • Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally
  • Sell the company’s products or services to customers within your given territory
  • Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer's specific needs
  • Work closely with service department to grow service business
  • Complete paperwork to submit sales orders in proper format
  • Product demonstrations and being product leader in territory
  • Reports to the Regional Branch Manager based out of Columbus, OH
  • Territory covers Southern Ohio
  • Occasional Weekend and overnight travel required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; BA/BS degree preferred
  • 3-7 years’ work experience in the MHE or Industrial sales and service operations
  • Industrial battery sales or MHE experience preferred
  • Computer literate and knowledge of Microsoft programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of top managers, employees, executives, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Must currently reside in the Greater Columbus, Ohio area, with daily travel as needed
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
