Overview

Navitas is ready to invest in you!  We are seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Manager to plan, implement, and oversee maintenance activities for all manufacturing equipment used in our lithium-ion battery production. This role involves leading a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and developing strategies for equipment reliability and performance improvement.

Responsibilities

Essential/Key Functions:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy for all manufacturing equipment, focusing on preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Select and implement a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to support all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance data in the CMMS
  • Monitor equipment performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures, ensuring timely and effective repairs to minimize production disruptions.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements; promote a safe working environment.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact on production schedules.
  • Develop training programs for maintenance staff to enhance skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary.
  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Management Responsibilities:

Hire, supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in the manufacturing sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be comfortable supporting US military-funded work and building products for US military testing and use.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems; familiarity with lithium-ion manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM), Six Sigma) are desirable.

 

ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the individual must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
