Overview

Navitas is ready to invest in you!  We are seeking a Director of the Program Management Office who will manage the program/project managers responsible for research projects or manufactured products, track and improve cross-departmental business processes and tools, coordinate key cross-functional business activities and meetings, and ensure compliance with governance requirements and consistency in project management practices.

Responsibilities

Essential/Key Functions

  • Alignment with Executive Team: Ensure priorities align with customer and stakeholder goals.
  • Leadership in Problem-Solving: Lead systemic problem-solving, conflict resolution, and solution development.
  • Project Management: Manage and communicate strategic project tasks and commitments.
  • Risk Management: Proactively manage scope, identify potential risks, and develop contingency plans.
  • Status Meetings: Conduct regular executive status and coordination meetings internally and with customers.
  • Financial Tracking: Track portfolio revenue and costs, compiling monthly reports for review.
  • Customer Support: Work with account management and sales teams to provide contractual reports.
  • Proposal Support: Assist the sales team with proposal development for new projects.
  • Process Optimization: Lead efforts to improve company work processes and methodologies.
  • Advisory Role: Provide support and assistance to other directors as needed.
  • Team Performance: Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators.
  • Support Strategic Activities: Participate in activities to support the leadership team's strategic goals.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and operate safely.
  • Physical Presence: Maintain a physical presence on the job.
  • Read and Follow Instructions: Comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Management Responsibilities

Manage Program Managers, Business Tools/Process Design activities, Cross-Functional Business activities, and Process Governance activities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a STEM discipline is required
  • Master’s degree in business, Systems Engineering, or Program Management is highly desirable.
  • 20+ years of experience in program/project management, systems engineering, technical project leadership, and/or operations.
  • 10+ years of directly managing Program Managers, systems engineers, or other technical individuals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comfortable supporting US military-funded work and building products for military testing and use.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and motivational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and visual.
  • Detail-oriented with persuasive skills through data and analysis.
  • Technical comprehension of battery system design architecture and applications.
  • Team-based problem-solving experience using structured methods like 8D and Six Sigma.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project and other collaborative tools (e.g., Smartsheet).
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Experience with Lithium-Ion battery products and electrical/electronic product development and launch.
  • Experience with government-funded program management (e.g., DOD, DOE, DOT).
  • PMP certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the employee must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
