Overview

Navitas Systems a lithium-ion battery manufacturer is seeking a Production Supervisor who task consist of meeting safety, quality, and productivity objectives through effective leadership, employee and process development, resource scheduling, and ongoing improvement initiatives. The Production Supervisor will oversee cross-functional High-Performance Work Teams (HPWT), managing both direct and indirect employees, and will coordinate daily activities and priorities for the team. This role necessitates the capability to interpret and adhere to instructions outlined in manuals.

 

This position will pay between $25.00-$30.00 per hour. 

Responsibilities

  • Foster a safety-first culture and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of production capacity plans to achieve established objectives.
  • Assist in prioritizing and establishing the weekly production schedule based on open orders, backlog, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Oversee daily operations on the manufacturing floor.
  • Coordinate daily with associates to optimize production output, monitor performance to ensure production targets are met, and address any shortfalls in required output.
  • Manage the flow of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), scrap, and finished goods. Develop and implement action plans to address missed targets and drive continuous improvements.
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for production operations, prepare related reports, and devise action plans to address any shortfalls and drive improvements.
  • Address Corrective Action Requests (CARs) related to the production team, including implementing containment measures, corrective actions, and permanent solutions.
  • Ensure the team receives proper training, maintain skill matrices, and update these matrices for process changes or new product introductions.
  • Collaborate with engineering on process development for new designs and improvements.
  • Lead High-Performance Work Teams (HPWTs).
  • Assist with production staffing arrangements to ensure adequate coverage, administer the time approval process, and handle disciplinary actions and new team member hiring.
  • Serve as a key communication liaison between floor associates and upper management.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.

 

Management Responsibilities:  Oversee production staff, manage efficiencies among associates, train, and develop associates

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Proven experience in leading teams within a manufacturing or operations environment, including:
    • Providing direction to more than 2 associates.
    • Managing build plans to meet targets.
  • Knowledge of ISO 2015 requirements.
  • Fundamental understanding of manufacturing assembly and flow with an emphasis on lean principles.
  • Basic knowledge of developing poka-yoke manufacturing processes, focusing on safety and quality.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
